What would be more romantic than an engagement photo session in the most iconic location in Provence: its lavender fields! I met Justine and her lover Rudy early morning between the villages of Sault and Aurel, north of Vaucluse. The photo session – a gift from her friend Laurine – was a wonderful way to celebrate their love in a breathtaking Provence decor.
I chose three locations all within a short drive to add some variety to the pictures from this photo session, two in the lavender fields of Sault and Aurel and a third in the charming village of Aurel itself.
The young couple followed my advice on what to wear for a photo session by selecting light blue clothes, to which they added hats that went really well with the rustic spirit of this engagement photo session.

In addition to the soft morning sunlight, we enjoyed cooler temperatures (in the Summer, temperatures can go as high as 40°C/104°F in the South of France!) and a romantic activity for the couple. If you plan an early morning photo session, note that the alarm might ring very early… but sunset photos are as beautiful!
